Default Precautions for website hacking

I was underway through a deadly hacking. I don't know yet how it was hacked. After than only I am conscious about the security. I never knew that the viruses and adwares on my computer too might help to open door for hackers on my site. I made studies about protecting sites and wish to share here with you all:

1) Maintain strong security on the computer that you use to manage your website

2) Follow accepted best practices for your website passwords

3) Choose third party scripts carefully

4) Keep third party scripts up to date

5) Write your own scripts securely

6) Block suspicious activity with .htaccess

7) Don't weaken your server's file and folder permissions.

After all these now do some preparation to make it easy to analyze in case of hacking later:
1) Turn on log archiving in cPanel

2) Get a complete list of your site files NOW while they are known-good

3) Explore your website and become familiar with what is there

4) Use good database connection practices in scripts:
